As somebody who doesn't get 'bus sick' and has no medical degree this one is a bit hard to diagnose remotely, but it's 'possible' that factors other than your health might have played a role as well. I heard that it helps to sit/stand towards the middle of the bus - away from the positions directly over the wheels and the bits that swing the most.
