I need a name for my upcoming webcomic.

Posted by Darkwhisperer666 - August 27th, 2024

So I'm working on a webcomic that we'll be posted on NG, I need a title, I did have a title for it but I found out someone else took the name.

The plot is that in the middle ages people practice black magic and it upset the gods so they created this afterlife where one becomes an undead warrior.

I want the name of the webcomic to have the same name as this realm.

What was the original title?

It was originally supposed to be called Necroverse but I found out that names been taken.

@Darkwhisperer666 Hmm since it’s Middle Age maybe something more ancient themed?

Like “Unshed Terror”, something like that

"Necroverse" sounds too generic to even be "copyrightable", tbh. ;) Since you make zero money with the project, the worst that could happen is "probably" you getting an email asking you to change that name within 3 business days.

You could name it "Monster" and watch a certain company try to claim that a word that already appears in books 'from the flipping dark ages' is their intellectual property. ...and that a digitally distributed comic could be mistaken for a beverage that can cause internal bleeding...

In the end, the only surefire way to avoid trouble is to make up a word or chose a combination of mundane words. Like "Age of the Undead" or "The Shambling Dead of Middle of Nowhere's-Ville".

From personal experience I can assure you that your early projects' biggest problems will not be "Didn't have a name that was cool enough." Save your best ideas for later. ;)

hm... if you gave more of plot i think we could think about more names
